The growth of domestic tourism in Kazakhstan was shown in figures

Indicators of domestic tourism in Kazakhstan are growing for the second year in a row. This is reported by the press service of Kazakh Tourism, referring to the Bureau of National Statistics. According to official statistics, according to the results of the first half of 2022, the number of domestic tourists served by accommodation facilities increased by 26 percent compared to the same period in 2021, amounting to 2.7 million people (the second quarter of 2021 - 2.1 million). This indicator for the first half of 2022 is higher than the pre–pandemic level (the second quarter of 2019 - 2 million people) by 600 thousand people. Accommodation facilities provided services in the amount of 67.7 billion tenge, which is 52 percent more compared to the first half of 2021 (44.6 billion tenge). The indicator of the current period exceeded the pre-pandemic level of the second quarter of 2019, when services were rendered in the amount of 50.9 billion tenge. There is also an increase in the number of foreign tourists served by accommodation facilities by almost 2.5 times compared to the same period last year, amounting to 292 thousand people. For comparison: in the first half of 2021, Kazakh hotels served 123 thousand foreign tourists. At the same time, in the first half of this year, the number of placements amounted to 3,831 units. The one–time capacity is almost 200 thousand beds. Earlier it was reported that more than one hundred thousand foreign tourists from more than 160 countries visited Kazakhstan in the period from June 1 to August 8, 2022.
