«Zheruyik» park

In spring 1998, the first stage of the "Zheruyik" park was planned. All residents saw the first planted seedlings of Nursultan Nazarbayev. Staff of central government actively participated on creation of the park, who repeatedly were on labor 'Saturdays'. Subsequently, internal space was ennobled, and now people see grown trees. It is nice to have a rest in the cool shade of their freshness lawn and what a wonderful feeling to contemplate the fruits of their labor, which remains for the benefit of descendants.

Zheruyik Park began to be built ten years ago, but the official opening took place in 2008. It welcomed first visitors. Exactly 10 years was needed for growing of seedlings. The total area of the park is 21 hectares, and almost 10 thousand trees and eleven species of shrubs planted here. Among them are pine, birch, poplar, wild cherry and others. The total area of the lawn is 95 thousand square meters; the length of the fence around the park is 3.5 thousand meters. Today, park has hiking and biking trails, benches, sculptures and other architectural forms.

Park has a fabulous name - "Zheruyik". Today, it is considered as one of the most beautiful parks in Astana. It is located along the Bauyrzhan Momyshuly Avenue, at the intersection of Magzhan Zhumabaev Avenue. Convenient roads, parking areas that are close to residential areas, beautiful nature, spectacular views, and necessary infrastructure make the park attractive for all kind of families.

There is a park with comfortable playgrounds and a variety of attractions for children. Lovers of sport bikes and jogging will appreciate specially designated paths.

A sculpture in the form of the legendary tree "Bayterek" becomes as an original card of “Zheruyik" park. It is located in the central part of the park, not far from the entrance. Around mythical trees are two-horned Pegasus that protected by four fabulous creatures - tiger- griffins. Unusual sculpture symbolizes the cycle of life, which links the past and the future.

In 2008, the President of Kazakhstan again visited the "Zheruyik" park. He was acquainted with the work and dates for completion of the second stage of the park.
