The national park “Ulytau” was created in Kazakhstan

By the decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a new, 14th national park “Ulytau” was created in Kazakhstan. This was announced by Serikkali Brekeshev, Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan, in his Twitter.

It is known that the national park “Ulytau” will be located in the Karaganda region, and its area will be 58.9 thousand hectares.

“In accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 867 of 2021, the State National Natural Park “Ulytau” was created. It is the 14th national park in the country. This is a serious achievement on the way to protecting the country’s ecosystem. MEG PR RK will continue comprehensive work on nature protection,” the message reads.

The purpose of the park is to preserve and protect biological and landscape intelligence in state natural complexes of various ecological and scientific values.

Earlier, the passport of the National Project “Green Kazakhstan”, published on the website of the Prime Minister, stated that the creation of a new national park “Ulytau” is planned to be completed in 2023. In total, 1,370,800 tenge was allocated for the project. In addition, it is planned to create a regional park “Merke”, for which, according to the document, 466 thousand tenge has been allocated.
