On November 25, Uygur district hosted events to open the winter tourist season, organized by the Tourism Department of the Almaty region and the Tourist Information Center of the Almaty region.
Within the framework of the event, a forum was held in the format of a round table “Tourism ReStart. Almaty region”, courses on the quality of services provided by accommodation facilities in accordance with the National Standards of the Republic of Kazakhstan, trainings for civil servants on the topic “National Project for the development of entrepreneurship for 2021-2025” and a seminar on digitalization of the tourism industry from the national company JSC “NC Kazakh Tourism”.
The opening of the winter season was attended by representatives of the tourism industry: the largest tour operators, representatives of specialized associations, heads of tourism departments of the regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Tourist Information Center of the Almaty region, NC Kazakh Tourism JSC, the Kazakhstan National Committee of UNESCO.
The purpose of the forum is to discuss the situation that has developed in tourism due to quarantine restrictions, and the restoration of the industry. The forum discussed the initiative of the Almaty region to unite all regional tourist information centers to increase the competitive advantages of Kazakhstan in the international market, improve communication and implement joint activities within the country. Memoranda of cooperation were signed between the participants for the further implementation of joint projects.
According to official statistics, for 9 months of 2021, the total number of visitors to specially protected natural areas amounted to 776,707 people. According to monitoring data, the volume of services rendered for 10 months of 2021 is 14,273. 9 million tenge.
Taking into account the positive trend emerging in the industry, the participants proposed a number of specific measures that will help maintain the dynamics. One of the initiatives from the Tourist Information Center of Almaty region to create an Association of Tourist information Centers of the Republic of Kazakhstan interested the participants.
In general, the forum showed that the tourism industry in the Almaty region has not only great potential, but also serves as one of the drivers of the development of the hospitality industry in the country.
