The information tour “New Silk Road” was held in Almaty region. The event was organized on September 22-24 for the International Day of Tourism, the Tourist Information Center of Almaty region reports.
The purpose of the event is to familiarize participants with the Great Silk Road, which is a unique historical monument of human civilization. For centuries, trade on the ancient caravan routes has contributed to the economic and cultural development of the countries of the east and west of Eurasia. Modern tourism connects trade and business through cultural dialogue, promotes mutual understanding and peace between peoples.
“We hope that such events will strengthen the tourism potential of the Almaty region, increase the flow of visitors, promote tourism opportunities in the region, as well as establish business contacts. Tourism specialists and media representatives from all regions of the country took part in the three-day information tour,” the Almaty Region Tourist Center said in a statement.
According to the program of the information tour, the participants visited famous tourist sites of the Almaty region – Kolsai Lakes, Tamgaly Tas Museum-Reserve, Charyn Canyon, Ash Grove and hot springs in Chunja.
