The summer season of 2022 on Lake Balkhash is just around the corner. Owners of recreation areas are already completing preparations and setting prices. In this article we will tell you how much a holiday on Balkhash will cost in 2022 and when the season starts.
In the western part of the lake, the water is fresh, the shore is more rocky, resorts are located in the villages of Chubar-Tyubek and Torangalyk. And in the south-eastern part, the water is salty, the shore is sandy, recreation areas are located near the village of Lepsy.
The swimming season on Balkhash begins in mid-June and ends in September. In June and August, holidays will be cheaper. And in July, demand is high, so prices are higher. On weekdays prices are lower, on weekends the price rises by about 30 percent. The cost will also be affected by the location of the recreation area, its distance from the coast, conditions and level. Hence the run-up in prices – from three to 10 thousand tenge per person.
According to the administrators of the recreation areas, every year all placements work in different modes and open in different ways. For example, one of the recreation areas from the village of Chubar-Tyubek, according to its director Kamila Doszhan, is ready to receive guests on May 26.
“We are currently preparing for the opening, we are purchasing products, furniture, cleaning rooms, putting the territory in order, creating comfort. Swimming in May is still cool, the bathing season begins in mid-June. The booking opened on May 10. Current prices are published on the website and in social networks,” she said.

Another recreation area, in the village of Torangalyk, opened a reservation in mid-April. And it will start accepting tourists from June 1. Prices are published in social networks and on the website. So, until June 20, 2022, at a campsite on the lake shore, a simple room with a bathroom, refrigerator and air conditioning will cost five thousand tenge per person on a weekday, and seven thousand tenge on weekends.
“Superior room (with TV and hot water) – six and eight thousand tenge. From June 21, 2022 – nine thousand tenge on weekdays and 11 thousand on weekends for a simple room. 10 and 12 thousand tenge – for improved. Children under five years old are accommodated free of charge, and seniors are provided with an additional seat with a 50% discount. Meals are paid additionally – four thousand tenge for three meals a day per person. Reservations are made by prepayment per day. Check-in at 14:00, check-out at 12:00,” said administrator Asel Kurmanova.
In the recreation area with a sandy beach in the village of Lepsy, booking began in May. The season will start on June 1 and end on August 20. A double room “standard” from the beginning to mid-June will cost 11 thousand tenge per night, from June 19 to July 2 – 15 thousand tenge, from July 3 to August 8 – 19 thousand tenge, at the end of the season – 15 thousand tenge. Triple standard – 17 thousand tenge, 23 thousand, 25 thousand and 22 thousand tenge, respectively, on the dates indicated earlier. A room at a higher level is more expensive by eight thousand tenge. Rooms with lake views are also available. The price is from 30 thousand to 50 thousand tenge.
“The price includes room accommodation, beach equipment, therapeutic mud, cinema, adult and children’s pools, playground, Parking. An entertainment program and dancing are waiting for guests every day. Additionally, you can order a sauna, do sapsurfing – two and a half thousand tenge per hour,” manager Yerkesh said.
It is worth noting that since May 1, planes of the Southern Sky Airline have been flying to the city of Balkhash from Almaty and Nur-Sultan daily. And from June 1 to July 14, additional flights will be launched to the same destinations three times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The ticket price from Nur-Sultan will be about 9,000 tenge, and from Almaty – 14,000 tenge. A 50% discount is provided for children under the age of 14.
