“The conditions here are really harsh. This is the Northern Inylchek glacier, located in Kazakhstan. But we got there from Kyrgyzstan. From Bishkek by busik to the Karkara area on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. From there, we were taken by helicopter for 40 minutes to the base camp to Khan Tengri Peak. You can also get from Kazakhstan. But it will be a long and dangerous journey on foot, even for professionals.
In general, climbing this peak is a difficult event even for experienced climbers, there are many dangers here: at least you need to cross icy rivers, jump over, use snow and ice bridges. The route itself is very complex and serious.
The river is located on the moraine of the glacier, so all the tents of our camp are placed on special wooden pallets. The ice is melting under them, and therefore the tents need to be rearranged. City tourists can not climb here. This place is inaccessible to them, ” says the guide.

According to the stories of the climber, there is one way to get to these beautiful places for ordinary tourists.
“In fact, it is easy to get to such a place – there are helicopter tours. From Karkara, you are taken to the peak for $ 500 (212,780 tenge), and you spend two full days on the glacier. Food, a walk on the glacier and a flight on a powerful helicopter give a lot of emotions and give beautiful views over high mountains, ” said Andrey Almazov.

“I have already done the ascent to Khan Tengri Peak several times. I was here for the first time 20 years ago, in 2001. The beauty here is indescribable, ” says Andrey Almazov.
