The resort of Alakol from the East Kazakhstan region is preparing for the opening of the season and expects a greater influx of tourists compared to last year. This was reported in the press service of the Tourism Department of East Kazakhstan Region.
So, the report notes that in the current conditions of the coronavirus pandemic, it is still impossible to predict the specific demand for the resort. But tourism representatives of the East Kazakhstan region expect that the number of tourists will be more than last year. In support of the expectations, the Tourism department of the East Kazakhstan Region presented statistics. So, from 2015 to 2020, Alakol became more popular with each season, showing a 35 percent increase in tourist traffic.
In 2020, due to the pandemic, the number of tourists is expected to have decreased: 140,872 people in 9 months in 2019, compared to 40,829 guests in 2020.
As for the prices for recreation, the press service said that they will vary on average from 5,000 to 25,000 tenge, depending on the location of the zone, the level of comfort conditions and food, the list of additional services and other parameters.
For example, for accommodation, meals and additional services, you can pay 4,000-7,000 tenge in the economy class recreation area. In hotels of a higher class – from 7,000 to 12,000 tenge. Accommodation in the recreation area with a large family will cost from 40,000 to 65,000 tenge per day. Depending on the conditions of residence and the level of service.

At the same time, the press service noted that according to the current legislation, state bodies cannot influence the formation of prices. Therefore, the amounts for recreation on Alakol from the East Kazakhstan Region may change at the decision of the owners of local recreation areas.
According to the press service of the Tourism Department of East Kazakhstan Region, 162 of the 188 recreation areas of Alakol have already received certificates of readiness and are waiting for the start of the holiday season on the lake, which is scheduled for June 2021.

The ministry also announced the organization of air communication with the Urjar district at the expense of funds from the republican budget. From May 1 to October 31, flights from Nur-Sultan and Almaty will be available there. At the same time, from Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semey, tourists can fly to Urjar from January 1. Passenger transportation is carried out by the airline JSC “Southern Sky”.
